Jackpot growth statistics

How high do jackpots really get — and how long does it take to get there?

For information only — not financial or gambling advice. These statistics describe past jackpot cycles on record; they don't predict the future, and a jackpot can be won at any size on any draw. Depth varies by game (some have years of history, others only recent draws).

How high do jackpots get?

The share of jackpot cycles that climb to at least each size before someone wins. It falls off fast — most jackpots are won well before the headline-grabbing levels.

How often, and how long, to reach each level

We reconstruct each jackpot "cycle" from the advertised (annuity) jackpot's saw-tooth in our draw history — a run from a reset up to the draw it was won (a sharp drop marks a win and reset). The curve and table summarize completed cycles only; the one in progress is excluded. Figures are descriptive statistics of past draws, not predictions, and depend on how much jackpot history we hold for each game.
